The Capital One (“COF”) Financial Institutions Group (FIG) is seeking a seasoned Chief of Staff to join the growing FIG team and business. This role will serve as a key member of the FIG leadership team and provide integral support to implement the business strategy across the line of business (LOB). This will be achieved through leading the development of and maintaining business routines, partnering with the leadership team to establish key imperatives for the line of business and ensuring that the business strategy is developed and communicated across the LOB, while aligning to the overall Commercial Banking strategy. This position will also have a heavy focus on associate engagement and help lead Capital One’s Chicago MPN (Market President Network) responsibilities, working closely with Capital One’s Chicago Market President and partners.
Responsibilities:
Drive and communicate current and future business strategies and priorities across enterprise
Strategically position FIG as a thought leader in the marketplace through targeted and formalized communications, events & speaking engagements
Liaise with partners across Capital One to coordinate and assist in Market President Network activities for Chicago region
Define and execute leadership routines to support the line of business. This includes administration of leadership team meetings and off sites, internal and external communications as well as the development of programs and processes supporting LOB strategies.
Help manage strategic planning, integration management, managing the financial plan, recruiting management and headcount in partnership with Finance and FIG leadership, and aligning business unit activities to Commercial Banking and COF objectives
Assess and drive strategic talent efforts related to transforming business upmarket (to include strategic organizational development, communications strategy and long-term headcount planning)
Partner with HR and other functions to drive associate engagement agenda – associate communications, monthly all hands calls, recognition and rewards programs, lunch and learns, team building and associate engagement action planning
Lead culture integration for the business, aligned with Commercial Banking culture strategy
Develop and deliver executive and board-level LOB reviews and strategic updates
Proxy to business leads on all horizontal/business critical efforts to include coordination and financial planning efforts with Commercial Banking chiefs of staff and key partners (Finance, HR, Operations, Technology, Communications, Brand, Digital, etc.)
Oversee change management related to HR, Finance, M&A, Marketing and Communications
Manage FIG real estate needs across footprint
Basic Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
Preferred Qualifications
A Master’s Degree
At least 8 years financial services experience
Demonstrated abilities to build relationships and influence at a wide range of levels
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, able to interface across all levels, including C-Suite
Ability to influence and drive change, resulting in a cohesive and high performing team
Strong ability to present to senior and executive enterprise leaders
Ability to adapt and work in fast-paced/evolving business while balancing business priorities with Business As Usual (BAU) requirements
Chicago location preferred
