This opening is to fill a critical role in the Cat Digital financial reporting team. This position is a great opportunity to learn about the fast-paced and exciting Digital business at Caterpillar.
As a Controller at Caterpillar, you will have the opportunity to develop essential business information and provide counsel to management for all business analysis and return on investment activities. In addition, you will provide analysis and interpretation of the financial condition of the Division.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Lead 11-person decision support team that serves as trusted advisor for Cat Digital’s 8 Department Heads
- Investment analyses for all Digital investments in support of Caterpillar’s Services Growth strategy
- Ad-hoc analyses for Vice President and Leadership Team
- Providing financial leadership and support to Cat Digital, including all aspects of accounting, financial reporting and systems
- Providing analysis of business statements to assist managers in managing costs across departments
- Participating in strategy development to improve accountable profit results
- Leading continuous improvement and change management efforts across the Cat Digital Finance team
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in an Accounting or Finance related discipline
- 8-10 years of progressively responsible job-related experience
Desired Qualifications:
- MBA or Master’s degree in a business related field
- Strong background in accounting, cost accounting, and budget development
- Strong analytical skills are required to perform detailed financial analysis and prepare strategic plans
- Excellent interpersonal skills are required in order to deal with sensitive issues, develop others, or persuade others inside and outside the department to take specific action
- Strong communication skills
