You are far more than an "accountant" when you join Wipfli's business advisory group and act as a Controller, Not-for-Profit for our clients. This position can be remote from anywhere in the US.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Provides general advisory service to clients, via scheduled remote meetings regarding the interpretation and use of financial statements.• Direct point of contact for not for profit client engagements • Partners with client CFO/Finance Directors to maintain and foster relationships within the not-for-profit industry • Research and share knowledge of best practices in areas of business concern or interest to each client.• Oversees client accounting team ensuring expectations are met on all client deliverables• Manage financial reporting accuracy for clients and Board of Directors • Provide technical accounting assistance to clients and internal team• Responsible for reviewing and finalizing accounting period close• Review financial statements, management reports, and other key performance indicators • Prepares financial data for grant applications if applicable

WHAT WE SEEK:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting• 5+ years of advanced, hand on full cycle accounting experience including financial statement preparation within the not-for-profit industry• Previous public accounting experience preferred• Minimum of 1 year supervisor experience• Proven ability to build and manage relationships• Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) preferred but not required• Federal grant program experience including grant funding is a strong plus
