As the Controller, you will own the company’s financial and accounting policies, system and processes including but not limited to, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, financial reporting and analysis. This position will have direct oversight for all monthly, quarterly and yearly financial reporting. Additionally, you will have ownership of reviewing payroll bimonthly, running compliance audits, running ad hoc data analyses, researching accounting mentorship, publishing policy and will provide overall direction and management to the accounting and financial management staff by implementing staff development programs for professional growth.

  • GAAP — Knowledge of GAAP (generally accepted accounting principle).
  • Excel and Pivot Table — Knowledge of Excel basics, including ability to navigate, manipulate, and interpret large quantities of data using pivot tables, etc.
  • Economics and Accounting — Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
  • Law and Government — Basic knowledge of laws, legal, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules, and the political processes.
  • Personnel and Human Resources — Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation, and personnel information systems.
  • Accounting system — Knowledge of accounting systems and processes utilized by DialogTech, specifically NetSuite.
  • Presentation Skills – Able to present financial information in a clear and effective manner.

Qualifications / Skills:

  • Validated experience in Accounting and Certified Public Accountant
  • Strong analytical, creative thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Collaborative and encouraging leadership style.
  • Proven depth and leadership in business and critical thinking.
  • Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work — Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, coordinate, and accomplish one’s work.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including group presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of Tableau and Adaptive Insights.
  • Knowledge of industry pricing standards.

As a Controller at DialogTech, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Connect with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates — Provide information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person. Specifically across departments.
  • Mentoring and Developing Others — Identify the developmental needs of others and coaching, mentoring, or otherwise helping others to improve their knowledge or skills.
  • Management of Personnel Resources — Empower, develop, and direct people as they work, identify the best people for the job.
  • Management of Financial Resources — Resolve how money will be spent to get the work done, and accounting for these expenditures.
  • Project Management — Manage one’s own department’s projects and hold others accountable for completion of their portion on the project, quality of their work, and overall deliverable timelines.
  • Complex Problem Solving — Identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.

Abilities:

  • Analytical — The capacity to use statistical reasoning to make logical decisions while working with display solutions, and analyze data.
  • Problem Sensitivity — The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
  • Reconciliation – The capability to compose/settle an open contract, while bringing the terms of the contract into agreement and restore any miscommunications.
  • Deductive Reasoning — The expertise to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
