Bento is seeking an experienced Controller to stand-up an in-house accounting capability at one of the most innovative B2B Financial Service companies in the country. We are looking for an accounting whiz who is well-versed in best practices, capable of introducing and enforcing a control environment, and passionate about deploying scale enabling systems and processes. RESPONSIBILITIES

• Execute all aspects of reporting and operational accounting; maintain the general ledger and all of the Company's financial books and records
• Identify, implement and oversee the execution of necessary financial processes, policies, procedures and controls to ensure compliance with US GAAP and all applicable tax laws
• Organize and drive all closing processes to ensure that all financial statements and reporting are timely and accurate
• Partner with FP&A in budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, as well as cash and treasury management
• Serve as the primary interface with external auditors
• Manage the federal, state and local tax filing process with internal and external resources to ensure compliance
• Drive full systems implementation, adoption and continuous improvement across business applications to maximize efficiencies throughout the Company
• Optimize operational accounting processes by leveraging systems to automate and streamline close procedures
• Monitor technical accounting matters, keep abreast of new accounting standards, and implement as required
• Support Human Resources in the administration and execution of compensation and benefits programs

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

• 8+ years of relevant accounting experience, including an operational role
• Prior experience managing ERP system selection, implementation and adoption; exposure to a variety of accounting systems is strongly preferred
• Team orientation with strong collaboration and communications skills
• Experience in a rapid growth environment
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite required, with an advanced knowledge of Excel
• Familiarity with the Payments, Banking or Fintech industries a plus
• BS/BA in Accounting; active CPA license preferred
