Controller

It’s with that in mind that Hireology is looking to add a Controller to the Finance department.
Reporting to the CFO, the Controller will be responsible for leading the accounting and financial reporting for the company, building and deploying scalable and efficient processes as Hireology continues to grow, and ensuring Hireology has timely and accurate information to meet its strategic business goals. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter with experience leading and developing talent in a very fast-paced and dynamic environment, and a passion for finding and owning opportunities to improve a $30M+ business.
As the Controller, you will be responsible for:
Managing the general accounting and financial reporting function at the company
Identification, implementation, and oversight of the execution of necessary financial processes, policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with US GAAP and all applicable registration, regulatory and tax laws
Ensuring financial plans are consistent with strategic business goals
Optimizing operational accounting processes, including implementation and management of accounting systems and software
Providing financial analysis tools to evaluate company ventures or special projects, programs, capital expenditures, product costing, etc.
Managing relationships and serving as the primary contact with various third parties including outside audit firms, banks and lessors, casualty/liability insurance agents, and credit card / merchant account processors
Managing a team, including hiring, onboarding, developing and retaining accounting talent
Supporting other areas of the business with accounting and financial reporting requests as needed

Okay, we’ve laid out what the job is - now are you qualified? Here are the minimum qualifications we’re looking for in a Controller:
BS/BA from four-year college or university in Accounting or Finance; Master’s preferred
7+ years accounting experience, CPA license is preferred.
2+ years experience supervising, developing and mentoring a team
Highly proficient with MS office suite, expert level Excel skills
Strong knowledge of US GAAP, including rules specific to software revenue recognition, purchase accounting, stock compensation, and software development capitalization
Demonstrates highest level of personal integrity and commitment to individual and team accountability
Detail-oriented and committed to 100% accuracy of all information
Excellent communication skills with the interpersonal and leadership qualities required to continuously motivate and develop a team, and style-flex as needed to communicate with all levels inside and outside the company
Ability to prioritize tasks and multi-task in a very fast-paced environment
Experience successfully scaling processes and programs within a high-growth company
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a team of professionals at all levels
A mix of both public accounting and industry experience is strongly preferred
