Overview:

STATS is currently seeking a Corporate Controller at its Global Headquarters in Chicago. Reporting to the CFO, the Corporate Controller will primarily be responsible for leading the accounting and financial reporting for the organization to ensure the Company remains in compliance with all regulatory and statutory requirements. In addition, the Corporate Controller will provide accurate and timely information to the business to ensure the company achieves its strategic objectives. We're looking for an individual who is a self-starter, is comfortable leading a team, and has the experience, ability and drive to seek out areas which need refinement and improvement. Well-qualified candidates will have served in the leadership role over one or more accounting organizations (staff of 5 or greater) within enterprises generating revenue in excess of $50 million per year.

What You'll Do:

  • Maintain the general ledger and all of the Company's financial books and records for entities located in North and South America, as well as Asia
  • Oversee all aspects of reporting and operational accounting for STATS
  • Identify, implement and oversee the execution of necessary financial processes, policies, procedures and controls to ensure compliance with US GAAP and all applicable tax laws
  • Organize and drive all closing and consolidation processes, including monthly account reconciliations, to track and safeguard company assets and to ensure that all financial statements and reporting are timely, accurate, and accord with US GAAP
  • Serve as the primary interface with external audit firm in the Company's annual financial audit
  • Serve as the primary interface with third-party tax providers to ensure compliance
  • Monitor technical accounting matters, keep abreast of new accounting pronouncements/standards (international and US standards), and work with the accounting teams on the implementation of new accounting pronouncements/standards
  • Work with Corporate finance team on the administration and management of transfer pricing policies and processes and reconciliation of intra-group transactions
  • Generate cash flow forecasts and work with the Corporate finance team on treasury management and foreign currency strategy
  • Optimize operational accounting processes by leveraging systems to automate and streamline close procedures
  • Drive full systems implementation, adoption and continuous improvement across business applications to maximize efficiencies and scalability across accounting function and entire organization
  • Support Human Resources in the administration and execution of payroll by coordinating the calculation and verification of all variable and discretionary pay components inherent in year-end compensation
  • Partner with FP&A in budgeting, forecasting, and documentation of variances

What You'll Need:

  • 10+ years of relevant accounting experience
  • 3+ years of Controller experience (equivalent experience as Assistant Controller or Divisional Controller in a large enterprise will also be considered)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or other relevant field of study
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, including rules specific to software revenue recognition, purchase accounting, stock compensation, foreign subsidiaries, and software development capitalization
  • Demonstrated competency applying GAAP within complex organizations, including researching and implementing relevant accounting technical standards, and preparing technical accounting memos supporting all accounting positions
  • Familiarity interfacing with outside financial auditors
  • Experience managing accounting operations for decentralized operations
  • Track record of effective and efficient management of the closing process, including the implementation of best practices and the ability to leverage systems to automate processes and financial reporting
  • Strong systems background and comfort utilizing systems to drive efficiencies and eliminate duplicate/manual processes
  • Demonstrated success in prior complex ERP migration projects, in both M&A integration and operational consolidation situations
  • Experience in SaaS, software, or another industry involving large transaction volume of a recurring nature, is highly preferable
  • Excellent communication skills with the interpersonal and leadership qualities required to continuously motivate and develop a team
  • Innovative and driven, with a superior ability to execute
