Corporate Tax Accountant
About the Corporate Tax Accountant Role
As a key member of the finance team, you will work closely with the Controller and external tax team on income tax and sales tax matters, the accounting team during month end close on related treasury and tax accounts, the AP team, and cross functionally with our IT team during implementation projects and ad hoc requests. From an income tax perspective, you will assist in managing the quarterly income tax provision, prepare quarterly income tax provision footnotes, provide data for the preparation of state and federal tax payments, and assist with any surrounding tax requests and audits as they arise. You will manage the function of the related foreign and local sales and use tax payments and related journal entries and reconciliations during our monthly close.
Job Responsibilities:
- Work with the Controller and external tax team on income tax and sales tax matters
- Work with the accounting and AP team during month end close on related cash and tax accounts.
- Work cross functionally with our IT team during implementation projects and ad hoc requests.
- Prepare the quarterly income tax provision and footnotes, provide data for the preparation of state and federal tax payments, and assist with any surrounding tax requests and audits as they arise.
- Manage foreign and local sales and use tax payments and related journal entries and reconciliations during our monthly close.
- For our treasury function, assist in reinventing the treasury and banking structure. Point of contact for managing the banking relationships and bank administration changes, while assessing internal controls to mitigate risk. Manage the intercompany cash transactions, recording our daily banking activity and monthly bank reconciliations.
- Work with our international offices to manage the FX rate within our accounting system, and analyze translation effects on the Balance Sheet and P&L.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Candidate must have a broad practical experience of corporation, and sales tax compliance
- International treasury and tax experience is preferred
- CPA license preferred
- Someone able to show initiative and strong problem-solving abilities
- Excellent analytical and data interpretation skills with the creative ability to look outside the box for how to create new analysis, reinvent structures and processes
- Resilient and confident individual, who is flexible and able to respond to the changing needs of the business
- Presentable and personable - the candidate must be able to communicate with external tax teams, and jurisdiction auditors
- An excellent communicator with the ability to break down the key aspects to non-tax specialists in a concise and effective way
