The Role:
Our analytics team in Chicago is looking for a Credit Risk Modeler who will use advanced modeling techniques to build cutting edge predictive models that will help us manage risk, pricing and other aspects of our rapidly growing lending business. We are seeking a hands-on individual with strong technical skills who enjoys analyzing large data sets to solve complex problems.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and enhance a broad variety of predictive models that will be used across all aspects of the customer life cycle including new customer acquisition, underwriting, loan offers, collections, retention and profitability analysis
- Collaborate with peers from other teams to create strategies for implementation of predictive models such as selection criteria for direct mail offers, approve vs. decline cutoffs and verification requirements for various customer segments, and risk-based loan offer terms (approval amount, rate and duration)
- Design multivariate tests to ensure continuous optimization of all aspects of the customer lifecycle
- Complete ad hoc analysis as needed to help management understand and interpret business results
- Stay up to date with tools, trends, and technologies in the FinTech space
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required
- Advanced degree in quantitative discipline is a plus (e.g., mathematics, statistics, operations research, quantitative finance, physics, engineering, computer science, etc.)
- 3+ years relevant work experience with a financial services company is preferred
- Familiarity with (and ideally proficiency in) SQL, R and Python· Ability to thrive in startup environment with heavy workload, competing priorities, and minimal structure
