The Opportunity: We are seeking a highly motivated Director of Corporate Accounting interested in contributing to the success of an exciting and fast-moving company. This role will require you to be a hands-on person with the goal of developing and growing within Finance team. Additionally, this position will provide the opportunity for the individual to leverage their strong interpersonal communication as they will be interacting across multiple departments on a regular basis. 

A Day in the Life:

  • Focuses on driving continuous improvement in processes and systems to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the business 
  • Recruits and trains a best-in-class accounting team
  • Develops and builds working relationships with internal and external business partners
  • Learns and maintains financial accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure compliance with US GAAP and company policies
  • Ensures compliance with all local, state, and other government tax requirements, including reporting, and filings
  • Works with external auditors in managing audit requests, managing technical accounting items, and preparation of financial statements
  • Evaluate accounting pronouncements and assess financial and reporting impact
  • Sound understanding of ASC 606, Revenue from Contracts with Customers
  • Sound understanding of ASC 805, Business Combinations
  • Leads the adoption and implementation of ASC 842, Leases
  • Owns all accounting operations and procedures
  • Establishes internal controls to protect the organization and its Team Members
  • Owns the ERP system, including training and implementation as the company grows
  • Facilitates an effective and efficient close process and ensure all accounting transactions are recorded accurately
  • Ensures the team achieves monthly close deadlines
  • Escalates any issues in a timely manner
  • Assists with ad hoc projects as needed
  • Reports to the Corporate Controller

Role progression:

Within 1 – 3 months, you will:

  • Meet with employees across the organization to learn more about the company and determine how to be an effective partner
  • Familiarize yourself with the financial systems (NetSuite and Salesforce) chart of accounts and respective general email mailboxes managed by the team

Within 6 months, you will:

  • Ensure all processes are documented and compliance is adhered to; these process narratives should be reviewed annually to ensure they are current
  • Identification of opportunities for process automation

About You:

  • 7+ years of Accounting experience
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
  • High performance orientation, ability to work well under pressure, prioritize projects, meet deadlines, and maintain flexibility
  • High attention to detail; works accurately, quickly and has good organizational skills
  • Effective working on an international team
  • Focus on customer experience (internal employees and external vendors)
  • Self-starter must have a positive attitude and strong desire for success
  • Experience with NetSuite and Salesforce
  • A strong desire to keep learning new things!
