Director of Finance - Remote

Summary:
Reporting to the CFO of the Global Investment Companies business segment, the Finance Director, GIC will be the strategic finance business partner providing thought leadership to both our Product and Sales/Business leaders. This individual will be tasked with developing software metrics and KPIs to help strengthen decision making across the organization, as well as partnering with the business and Product teams to develop financial models for business cases including ROI's for new products, initiatives, or technologies. The successful candidate will possess deep financial analytics and the ability to work in a cross-functional capacity with a high focus on improving the profitability of the product and segment P&Ls.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate financial business decisions through building of financial models to support investments
- Develop and track critical financial and operating reporting metrics for the executive team and others; communicate actionable insights to relevant stakeholders
- Apply an analytical approach to influence strategic decision-making, with a focus on capital allocation decisions and long-term financial planning
- Architect financial commentaries and documents to support key financial deliverables.
- Summarize large data sets and distill trends using detailed financial models, providing summary conclusions and actionable recommendations
- Interface with all levels of management to identify operational issues that could affect the forecast
- Drive external market analytics into business unit decision making processes
- Develop new processes or improve existing processes relating to financial planning/reporting
- Support ad hoc projects and help define systems improvements to support DFIN's growth.
- Provide financial analysis and commentary to important partners including DFIN's board, management team and IR/External Reporting team
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or other relevant field; Master's Degree preferred
- 8-12 years of relevant finance experience including experience in finance & strategy in a corporate environment
- Experience in a SaaS/software or business service organization preferred
- Excellent financial modeling and analytical skills
- A strategic thinker who can also be tactical when required
- Strong financial acumen combined with practical business judgment
- Demonstrated ability to build strong and effective working relationships across functions
- Familiarity with financial planning processes and business systems such as BPC, Essbase or similar
- Consistent success and career progression
