    Director of Finance 

     

    The Director of Finance reports to the VP, Finance and has primary responsibility for leading teams providing financial analysis and support to executives on corporate planning, budgeting, operations planning, incentive compensation, performance monitoring, capital planning, and variance analysis. This role will also partner closely with the Controller on all planning and reporting.  

     

    Essential Duties & Role Responsibilities  

    • Lead, manage and direct a team of more than six. 

    • Partner with the executive leadership team to provide guidance and support that will enable Echo to move aggressively toward achieving its growth plans 

    • Lead all budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and reporting initiatives throughout the company 

    • Provide financial expertise to department leaders and interact with senior leadership on both operational and financial short range and long range planning 

    • Oversee preparation and review of monthly operating financial statements, forecasts, monthly variance analysis, and budget data 

    • Partner with the Controller and Accounting team on financial month end close cycle 

    • Analyze all aspects of financial performance and leverage data analytics to improve forecasting & reporting to gain insights and analysis regarding business performance, and to drive overall improvement in knowledge and growth in the business 

    • Lead preparation of ad hoc analysis to generate recommendations that drive business innovation and optimization 

    • Drive accountability across the business in order to meet or exceed Echo’s operational and financial plans 

    • Lead the development of robust executive reporting to provide visibility into key KPIs and financial trends for internal leaders 

    • Provide financial support for business development activities including strategic acquisitions 

    • Partner with IT and internal stakeholders on evaluation, selection and implementation of financial systems 

    • Partner with HR to perform analyses to support decision making and recommendations around incentive compensation plans and impact on performance  

     

    Qualifications 

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience 

    • 10+ years experience in a finance leadership role 

    • Experience with design and implementation of new systems and familiarity with Anaplan and Tableau a plus 

    • Demonstrated success with analysis, due diligence and integration of acquisitions 

    • Experience with incentive compensation design and tracking a plus 

    • Experience implementing and managing rolling forecasts/budgets a plus 

    • Ability to build and lead teams in a fast paced and changing environment 

    • Demonstrated success partnering with multi-location and cross-functional business units 

    • Proactive problem-solver capable of identifying issues and generating solutions 

     

     

     

     

    Work environment/physical demands summary:

    This job operates in an office environment and uses a computer, telephone and other office equipment as needed to perform duties. The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of an office with an open seating floor plan. The employee may encounter frequent interruptions throughout the work day. The employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear.
