So, what’s the role?
Our FP&A team is growing, and we are looking for an experienced finance professional to lead the planning, forecasting and reporting function. This role will report to the VP of FP&A and own financial models and management reporting for the organization. This role will work with the internal finance and accounting teams as well as business leaders across the organization to storyline results, develop and optimize analytical models, and ultimately provide recommendations to aid in executive decision making. You will serve as a thought leader to improve processes, drive standardization, and build scalable reporting and forecasting solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience in optimizing finance processes for speed, agility and insight. Kin continues to grow rapidly, by size, products, and geographies. The FP&A Director will be integral in helping build the foundation to scale our reporting functionality and add insights and transparency into our financial results.
A day in the life could include:
- Collect, develop and report accurate, actionable, and timely financial and business metrics for monthly, quarterly, and annual reviews
- Assist in preparation of performance reporting packages to be presented to key stakeholders including senior management, the Board of Directors, and external investors
- Play a critical role in supporting performance of your business partners, e.g., budget governance, monthly operating reviews, performance to top-line growth and bottom-line profitability targets
- Conduct proactive analyses of internal & external data to identify opportunities and risks, helping business leaders exceed financial commitments
- Support the annual budgeting and review process with all business partners
- Assist in improving and maintaining our long-term operating model
- Prepare forecasts and report and storyline monthly variance analysis
I’ve got the skills...but do I have the necessary ones?
- 7+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, preferably in the insurance industry
- Experience leading enterprise and management reporting
- Strong understanding of GAAP/Statutory accounting principles and financial statement modeling
- Excellent communicator with experience distilling complex information into articulate narratives that cater to wide audiences
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Office, G-Suite products and data analytics tools
- Desire to work in a dynamic and fast paced startup environment
