What You'll Bring:
- Minimum 10 years of tax experience working in a Big 4 public accounting firm and/or multinational public company corporate tax department with a focus on U.S. taxes and global income tax accounting/reporting
- Deep technical expertise in U.S. GAAP tax accounting (ASC 740) and Sarbanes Oxley 404 concepts for public multi-national companies
- Experience in leading U.S. tax due diligence efforts as well as post-acquisition planning and integration efforts, including addressing the tax accounting impact of transactions such as acquisitions, mergers, divestitures, etc.
- Ability to effectively design and implement process improvements to complete tasks more efficiently and accurately
- Experience serving in a role leading and directing a team of employees with responsibility for management decisions including hiring and performance management
- Experience with U.S. federal and state and local tax compliance in a global structure; including review of returns and supporting workpapers, audit defense, and planning strategies
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to translate tax technical items into non-technical terms
- Ability to lead a team and develop strategic plans
- Desire to act as a resource and mentor less experienced peers
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and CPA credential required
We'd Love to See:
- Expertise in tax technology and data automation tools (e.g. Onesource Tax Provision, Alteryx, UiPath, etc.)
- Master's degree in taxation
Impact You'll Make:
- Reporting directly to the VP of Tax, the Director of Global Tax Accounting and U.S. Taxes will be responsible for the oversight of the global tax accounting/provision function and all U.S. tax functions
- Manage the quarterly and annual global reporting of income taxes including taxes payable, deferred tax calculations, effective tax rate, uncertain tax positions, tax account reconciliations, journal entries and other provision related items
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of foreign subsidiaries' current and deferred tax account balances
- Ensure compliance with all SOX internal controls with the ability to constantly evaluate controls and design/edit controls as needed
- Manage all aspects of the Company's U.S. domestic and state tax footprint, including merger and acquisition activity, planning and special projects, outsourced compliance, provision, and audit defense
- Identify U.S. domestic and state tax strategic opportunities that will maximize earnings and cash flow by minimizing the Company's effective tax rate and cash taxes
- Responsible for audits of federal and state tax filings
- Lead U.S. M&A efforts including tax due diligence and post-acquisition integration and planning
- Translate tax technical items into non-technical terms in to collaborate on matters with Treasury, Legal, HR and other Finance teams
- Embrace and drive the use of tax technology and data automation tools to improve efficiencies and accuracy
- Lead the U.S. income tax budgeting and forecast process
- Manage co-sourcing arrangements for U.S. domestic and state outsourced compliance
