Home Chef is in a dynamic period of growth and is looking for a Financial Data Analyst to join the growing finance team. This role will sit between the worlds of Data and Finance, bringing relevant knowledge from both fields. The Analyst will be responsible for modeling source data into the warehouse for end user reporting and dashboarding, working in close collaboration with financial and business analysts to understand their data requirements, and will enjoy being involved in the business from a financial perspective. Home Chef is in the process of implementing the next generation of data architecture. The Financial Data Analyst will also work closely with our data engineers to build and maintain a clearly defined data model. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has an entrepreneurial mindset and is prepared to help improve the accessibility of our financial data and related processes as the Company continues to grow. The Analyst should also be ready and excited to train business and financial analysts on more technical concepts.

Detailed Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and own a clear concise Data Model that serves the Finance team while maintaining consistency with the Model used throughout the company
• Solid understanding of fundamentals of business economics – profitability, operational efficiency and long-term value
• Convert non-technical business requests to technicals specs and those specs to code
• Work to streamline the existing data and reporting tools, maintain a clean data warehouse, and build out new reporting processes
• Build ingestion, cleaning, and transformations jobs to create a useful, integrated data warehouse
• Detailed understanding of data mining, manipulation, and reconciliation
• Work closely with business stakeholders in both finance and across the organization to learn about the business, gather requirements, define projects, and communicate progress
• Teach non-technical colleagues how to interact with our data platform and tools; help them become self-sufficient

Requirements/Relevant Skills:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in CS, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or related field is preferred.
• Minimum 4 years of progressive data experience and a minimum of 2 year of experience working directly with the finance function
• Extensive knowledge of SQL, Python, Pyspark
• Proficiency with AWS Suite
• Experience with Looker a strong plus
• Experience building enterprise level data models
• Ability to motivate a team to produce quality materials by deadlines
• Ability to participate in a team environment and facilitate group meetings
