Promotions Accounting Analyst (2+ Years' Experience)

Responsibilities
The Project and Promotions Accounting Analyst will maintain annual customer promotion program P & L models and ensure program expenditures stay within customer approved parameters. The analyst will provide reports on program cost and revenue activities with explanation of variances to budget (i.e., customer fund reporting). This position will also assist with the preparation of journal entries, internal/external reporting, and other initiatives as assigned in support of business unit projects.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Monthly variance account reporting to customers and the internal HAVI Financial Reporting team
- Reviewing program billings against budgets including monitoring and analyzing program expenses and highlighting and understanding budget variances for presentation to customer
- Developing program budgets and obtaining approvals for all final budgets
- Completing final program reconciliations including summarizing variances for presentation to customer and obtaining approvals of reconciled programs
- Resolving program budget variances according to customer direction (including vendor communications)
- Maintaining account reconciliations for all program related accounts (e.g. accrual accounts, etc.)
- Preparing journal entries and related reporting relative to business unit projects
Desired Skills & Experience
- Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Finance or equivalent work experience
- 2+ years' accounting experience
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas & functions)
- Analytical skills
- Verbal and written skills
- Detail oriented
- Experience with JD Edwards financial modules preferred
- Hyperion and report writing experience preferred
