About the Team:
The Finance team will be a model of transparency and collaboration with strategic planning and forecasting at the core of all cross‐functional commercial decision making.
Position Overview:
Within Camelot Illinois, the Financial Analyst is responsible for reconciling all aspects of the online platform, iLottery, for the State of Illinois. This position will also provide general accounting support to the Accounting department and the Financial Controller.
Responsibilities:
iLottery
- Main contact person responsible for the iLottery accounting function
- Reconcile the customer wallet liability balances between the general ledger and the online system
- Reconcile customer deposits with the credit card processor daily
- Daily and monthly reconciliation of the dedicated iLottey bank account between the GL and the bank and ensure all activity hitting the bank is properly accounted for
- Calculate the weekly settlement with the State of Illinois and initiate the payment process using the bank’s web-based banking portal
- Investigate and escalate any reconciling items identified
- Review fees assessed by credit card processor and bank to ensure adherence to relevant fee schedules
- Ensure that controls are in place for the online ilottery platform for the State of Illinois
- Prepare accurate monthly reports; assemble and distribute the report to the State
- Communicate regularly with the Information Technology department when reconciling items warrant their involvement
General
- Responsible for cash reconciliations
- During month-end, responsible for credit card transaction entries and follow-up, accruals, lease/rent entries, prepayment schedules, etc
- Manage wire transfers and deposits; initiate transfers through online banking systems
- Monitor procurement spend
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving any reconciling items
- Provides information and supports the process for internal and external audits
- Acts as point of escalation on operational matters and matters falling outside of policy
- Broader work, accountabilities, special projects may be assigned as needed at the direction of the Financial Controller
- Develop knowledge related to business/group accounting requirements and standards
Requirements
Required:
- 4+ years of work experience in staff finance or accounting role
- Public accounting experience a plus
- CPA, undergrad in accounting, or knowledge of accounting concepts and the ability to record journal entries
- Works independently on a range of complex tasks, which may include unique situations
- Organizes work information to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Ability to build effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited University
- Experience and knowledge of Netsuite preferred
- Effective decision making, analytical and problem-solving skills
Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules
