YOUR JOB SUMMARY
As a Financial Analyst, your primary responsibility will be around supporting the forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning for the company. Additional responsibilities include executing on analytical work on behalf of our company’s most senior leaders. The Financial Analyst will impact business results by performing timely, insightful and actionable analysis to influence strategy and key business initiatives. The Financial Analyst will also assist with month-end close and related reconciliations. This is a highly visible role that will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer and act as an overall Business Partner to all other divisions.
THE PROJECTS AND WORK YOU WILL DO
- Act as primary finance support and business partner by providing recommendations based on key analysis & interpretation
- Responsible for execution of monthly forecasts, annual budgeting and long-range planning activities
- Assist with monthly Financial Close including journal entries and accruals
- Provide reconciliations and detailed analysis of various accounts
- Understand the key drivers of financial results in order to provide insightful reporting and analysis
- Assist in the design, implementation, and enhancement of financial forecasting tools and processes
- Partner with divisions and stakeholders to help achieve business objectives including conducting research, performing analytical work, and preparing various reports
- Analyze business unit performance to understand and explain key drivers of variance to budget and forecast
- Provide objective analytical support to help influence and reinforce business decisions
- Identify trends, advise company and recommend actions based on sound analysis
- Represents Finance on key corporate initiatives to support the growth of the business
- Participate and/or lead various finance projects, projects will vary depending on business needs
- Prepare internal and external corporate documents.
REQUIREMENTS
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
- 3+ years of finance experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent ability to manipulate data and form reports in Excel
- Strong work ethic with a positive, can-do attitude
- Ability to quickly learn and master new programs, software, and concepts
- Independent worker and analytical thinker with ability to conduct research, data analysis and resolve complex problems
- Strong presence with the ability to interact with Senior Leadership
- Proven ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines
- Experienced in financial analysis, profitability, and pricing
- Ability to maintain high level of organization
- Must have excellent attention to detail
- Located in the Greater Dubuque, Iowa area or willing to relocate
