OppLoans has served millions of credit challenged, middle income customers who lack access to traditional financial products. We want to provide customers with a graduation product from our high cost installment loan product to a credit card product. This is a tremendous win for the consumer as they get a better priced, traditional credit product that can more rapidly improve their credit score.
In today’s market, sub-600 FICO borrowers have poor credit card options. The OppCard will provide a better priced product coupled with OppLoans industry winning mobile-first customer experience, servicing, and a first-of-its-kind loyalty program for this customer base.
Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, the GM, Credit Card will build the OppCard from the ground up and have full P&L responsibility. Although the role is quite entrepreneurial in nature, the GM will have full benefit of our hundreds of thousands of paid off customers annually, hundreds of thousands of applications through our core acquisition channels annually, and the support of our deep bench across marketing, servicing, technology, compliance and finance divisions. GM will build a team that integrates with our current business to successfully launch and scale this product.
What you will bring to the team:
This position is not for the faint of heart – must be willing to come into work every day to “blank sheets” of paper. You will not only help set the firm’s strategy for the next decade, but also operationalize this product into a sustainable, high growth business line. This role will have very high C-Suite and Board of Director visibility.
Deep credit card expertise couple with an understanding of how a Credit Card product integrates across the firm. Outstanding thought leadership and ability to build and scale a team. Comfort with dissecting a vast, complex market into an actionable growth strategy. You will meticulously study the industry to understand what the current competitive environment looks like and how OppLoans can bring a winning product to its customers. You must be able to take a stand with the CEO, C-Suite and Board on what is best for the business. This includes weighing growth, profitability, and risk to properly vet and prioritize key decisions. Candidates with deep backgrounds in strategic management consulting, direct P&L responsibilities as a General Manager and deal making skills will be best positioned for success. Creativity and intellectual curiosity in recognizing key market gaps and arbitrage opportunities for OppLoans is a must. You will have the agility to continuously flex from big-picture, long-term thinking to an operational mindset.
