Job Description
TITLE: Lead Consumer Credit Risk Specialist
DUTIES: DFS Corporate Services LLC seeks Lead Consumer Credit Risk Specialist in Riverwoods, IL, to develop, apply and enhance credit risk oversight processes in support of and under the oversight of the overall Corporate Risk Management framework and system. Evaluate and monitor consumer credit risk appetite, tolerance and threshold. Define the process for monitoring the performance of the consumer credit portfolio and perform reviews of credit risk strategies, while using trade-offs among key business metrics, including credit losses, receivables, and profit. Identify, design and implement business analyses in support of business strategy. Design and implement comprehensive statistical analysis as part of the credit review process. Establish and maintain effective portfolio tracking to monitor changes in the portfolio credit performance. Assess and effectively challenge risk appetite and KRI tolerances and thresholds. Review and effectively challenge the ALLL assumptions and calculations. Apply and enhance credit risk oversight policies, processes and procedures. Establish effective controls in the credit oversight process. Promote a risk-aware culture and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and processes.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Business, or a related field and four (4) years of experience in job offered or related occupation: identifying performance trends through data analysis and information processing; identifying high risk areas; conducting regression and statistical analysis; conducting attribution analysis and waterfall analysis; executing data collection, mining, and manipulation; dealing with large datasets with millions of records; performing simulations; programming using SAS, SQL, and R. Alternatively, the employer will accept a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Business, or other related quantitative field and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
