Position Overview

Paylocity is looking for a Manager of Finance to join our award-winning company.

 

Reporting to the Senior Director of Finance and Investor Relations, the Manager of Finance will develop and execute strategic financial goals used to create the annual budget and quarterly forecasts and will work closely with our VP of Corporate Development.

 

Additionally, this high-profile role will be responsible for preparing quarterly earnings releases, prepping all materials for board meetings, and maintaining key financial metric dashboards, along with various other ad hoc projects. This role also requires significant forward-planning expertise in areas such as revenue, expenses, and cash flows, and will be expected to maintain long-term models related to each of these areas.

 

A significant aspect of this role is the ability to multitask with ease and develop strong working relationships with individuals across our company. A successful candidate will exhibit the qualities of thoroughness and thoughtfulness in dealing with all situations and will have exceptional expertise in critical analysis and complex problem-solving.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Own the long-term strategic financial model, including quarterly financial forecasts
  • Streamline the corporate strategy workflow, including working with the Corporate Development team on financial modeling and integration planning
  • Coordinate with the Sr. Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis on financial planning and execution versus strategic financial goals
  • Prepare materials for quarterly and annual Board of Directors meetings
  • Prepare earnings releases and financial guidance communications
  • Demonstrate researched understanding and insight on competitive industry dynamics, specifically the financial performance and results of key industry peers
  • Assist investor relations, including coordinating meetings, conferences, and related materials, and maintain related market statistics
  • Track key financial metrics to inform crucial insights
  • Prepare presentations for C-suite meetings
  • Maintain strong professional presence as role will interface with C-suite regularly

Experience and Skills:

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of management experience; technology experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; MBA preferred
  • CPA or similar professional designation strongly preferred
  • 7-10 years in a similar role; preferably in a high-growth public company environment
  • Experience working with C-suite executives in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask across a wide variety of projects and topics
  • Demonstrated ability to create processes and develop structures at a growing company
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with others, including non-Finance personnel
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office software, especially Excel
