You’ll be responsible for:
- Process semi-monthly multi state/ multi location payroll for exempt & non-exempt population via Ultipro software.
- Maintain payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data into payroll system.
- Help administrate all payroll tax related tasks including: registration for new states, closing old accounts, and resolving tax issues/notices with third party payroll systems ( Ultipro, ADP, Payforce, Gusto)
- Support Payroll Manager with year-end W2 preparation including but not limited to: processing, balancing, adjustments and amendments.
- Work with internal partners in Human Recourses & Finance to facilitate and improve payroll processes.
- Develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed.
- Update and reconcile monthly payroll bank transactions.
- Participate in financial month end and year end close, including preparation of accruals, bookings of payroll journal entries, and reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
- Utilize technology to drive continuous improvement to firm payroll processes, reports, and controls.
You’ll gain loads of experience in this role but before you do, you should have:
- 1-4 years’ experience in a fast paced payroll environment exhibiting proficiency in all aspects of day to day payroll operations
- Working knowledge of Federal and State payroll policies, including FLSA laws, overtime and termination regulations
- Certified payroll professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) is a plus
- Working knowledge of Ultipro and/or ADP Enterprise systems and related reporting tools
- Familiarity with general accounting principles and accounting systems, Netsuite experience is a plus
- Excellent problem solving skills and high level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft office and payroll software program
