As the Payroll Manager, you will join an awesome People Team focused on delivering strategic support to our employee base. We endeavor to continuously strengthen our business partner status by understanding business needs and delivering smart, simple solutions that are user friendly. Fundamentally, you will be responsible for executing efficient and accurate payroll and tax related activities. You'll also serve as a consultant to colleagues and employees on payroll related inquiries while ensuring compliance with regulations as applicable to payroll. You will be responsible for:
- Payroll ownership: prepare and process payroll for a company of 450+ employees using ADP Workforce Now, research and resolve employee payroll and ADP system inquiries and issues.
- Automation leadership: build and refine processes (i.e. auditing and reconciliation), streamline inefficiencies, enable reports while collaborating with Compensation and Finance (i.e. ACA and 401k 5500).
- Interact with HR, Operations, Finance, Accounting, Compensation, and other key departments to ensure accuracy of payroll requests (i.e. inputting incentives, bonuses, and all other special payment entries)
- Domain expertise: manage filing of accurate and timely payroll tax returns, reports and documents (940, 941, state, and local) as required to ensure company compliance.
- Process leadership: train the organization on best practice use of ADP; time clock, employee access, managerial approvals, basic reporting, navigation and self-service.
To be successful, you'll need:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant business discipline
- 5+ years of experience running payroll for at least 1,000 employees
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification preferred
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, e.g. nested formulas
- Expert knowledge of ADP Workforce Now
- Incredible attention to detail and ability to self-audit
- Experience enabling and generating HR reporting and analytics
- Comprehensive knowledge of payroll processing and Federal and State wage laws
- Demonstrate strong business acumen and genuine interest in learning the business
- Experience with system conversion and HRIS integrations.
