Department OverviewMotorola Solutions Inc., North American Payroll Department
The Motorola Solutions Inc., North American Payroll Department processes payroll for over 10,000 employees between the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and Guam. A payroll specialist is expected to work as needed in order to provide a timely and accurate payroll on a biweekly basis with the pay date being Friday. Overtime is expected as needed specifically during holidays.
A payroll specialist for the US payroll department should know when they need to ask for assistance, be willing to understand the Motorola culture, always put our employees first and has a collaborative nature for working with others.
Understands an automated batch payroll processing software
Knows where to research for regulatory questions
Some college education, work experience equivalent
Reversing pay checks
Manual check processing
Bank Rejections for Direct Deposits
Canada payroll processing preferred
Calculate the details of a payroll earnings & deductions statement
Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel
3+ years of experience in payroll processing (preferably ADP software)
Attention to details
Microsoft Office applications
Sit for long periods of time
Identify discrepancies for payroll wages and deductions
Maintain employee demographics
High school diploma or GED required and 3+ years of experience
