Position Overview:

The Tax Department is relied upon by all facets of the organization including sales, new client implementation, client support and finance. The Tax Filing Service is responsible for Tax Deposits exceeding $40 billion annually and filing 800,000 tax returns. The Tax Compliance Team is primarily responsible for balancing the Payroll system to the Tax System and reconciling variances for new and existing customers.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for tax reconciliation for cyclical processing and end of the period activities.
  • Connect with teams to record, resolve and research on compromising errors and issues.
  • Stay abreast of all changes required to support tax reporting agencies such as taxability changes
  • Participate in balancing activities related to new customers shortly after their payroll implementation
  • Balance all existing customers each quarter, resolving any variances uncovered during interim balancing and quarter end processing
  • Ensure files used for reporting are consistent with current version supported by Tax Software and that they contain accurate data from Payroll System
  • Communicate information to colleagues in Tax Operations
  • Collaborate with internal teams to strengthen processes and deliverables• Manage Tax related issues for terminated customers
  • Maintain tools used to perform balancing activities
  • Partner with colleagues in Tax, and other related areas (Service, Implementation, Finance) to ensure sound tax services and high levels of customer service
  • Provide information and assistance related to payroll tax for both internal and external customers
  • Other related responsibilities at the discretion of management

 

Requirements:

  • 3-5 Years Payroll Tax Experience
  • Previous Exposure to Payroll, Banking or Tax Software
  • Payroll service bureau experience required
  • Ability to work in fast paced, high volume, yet detailed environment
  • Strong communication skills and problem-solving ability
  • High level of integrity
  • Level I or II determined by individual experience, specific knowledge, and performance

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Mathematics desired
  • Intermediate Excel skill desired

  • Team Player, collaborating with others to make awesome happen
  • Self-Motivated – you like to work hard, play hard.
  • Adaptable – quick feet! You can shift priorities if needed.
  • Highly Organized – detail-oriented is your thing!
  • MS Office applications - are no sweat when it comes to your skillset
