JOIN OUR TEAM

NextCapital is seeking a Principal to join NextCapital Advisers' Advice Finance team. The Advice Finance team is responsible for NextCapital Advisers' proprietary advice and investment methodology, and plays an instrumental role in working with Partner institutions in developing and maintaining advice solutions. The Advice Finance team is made up of both quantitative and qualitative experts with experience in a variety of financial disciplines, working together to facilitate the delivery of personalized planning and managed account solutions across workplace and retail management opportunities.

Requirements

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Play a leadership role in enhancing and implementing the firm’s solutions in the retirement income space (defining investor needs and wants, optimizing strategy toward those goals, integrating with third party guaranteed income solutions)
  • Interact with clients/partners directly across all areas of investment advice, with a special focus on retirement income solutions, driving implementation and partner success
  • Support business growth by overseeing and managing new Partner methodology due diligence and configuration of advice solutions on NextCapital's platform. This involves managing large-scale projects and communicating with external and internal stakeholders on a regular basis.
  • Lead and contribute to innovative thought leadership in retirement income and broader investment and retirement subject areas, identifying, acting on, and influencing market trends

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Experience
    • 7+ years of experience, or comparable knowledge and potential, related to investments and retirement planning, with strong exposure to retirement income products/solutions.
    • Experience working with clients/partners, managing relationships and implementing solutions.
    • Experience writing, translating and communicating complex methodology to simple plain languages, such as authoring reports or white papers for publication, presenting professional materials at industry conferences, etc.
    • Plus: Experience in Agile project management
    • Plus: You have programming experience, or ability to interact with programmers working in analytic languages (Matlab, Python, Java, etc.) and work with financial data and databases.
  • Education
    • A master’s degree in a relevant field, or bachelor’s degree and relevant work experience as mentioned above.
    • You're a strong candidate if you are on track for industry certifications/designations, such as CFA, FSA, CFP, FRM, CRPC, CIPM etc.
  • Traits/Skills
    • You have outstanding communication skills (both written and verbal).
    • Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and quantitative skills.
    • You are highly self-motivated and have the ability to work independently.
    • You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are able to pivot efficiently when priorities change.
