ThinkMarkets is seeking a Procurement Specialist to join our growing Chicago team. In this role, you will oversee all our vendor relationships, determine preferred suppliers, and negotiate the best contracts and pricing terms. The Procurement Specialist will be a subject matter expert on procurement policies and will guide internal stakeholders on best practices. You will collaborate with multiple department heads to determine business needs and how to contribute cost savings in partnerships with suppliers. This is a great role for anyone who is has strong communication skills in addition to being process-oriented and business savvy.
Responsibilities:
- Negotiate the best pricing terms with vendors while also maintaining a good relationship
- Evaluate and implement best practices for procurement of goods and purchasing procedures
- Work with the accounting team to manage Accounts Payable
- Assist with forecasting / planning processes, demand management, and developing contracts that scale future enterprise needs
- Collaborate with department heads to understand and determine purpose and need for varying contracts and invoices
- Manage and review invoices to ensure proper approval received prior to submitting for payment
- Proactively seek innovative ways to improve procurement processes
- Implement cost saving at every level of the contract
- Overall vendor management
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or master’s degree in related field with foundational accounting knowledge
- 6+ years’ experience in procurement within trading/financial industry
- Experience accounting and procurement tools like Lightyear, QuickBooks, SUN & Infor Q&A
- Expert experience with Excel a must
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong procurement skills including, negotiations, and supplier relationship management
- Able to manage and prioritize multiple assignments at any one time, delivering high quality work that meets agreed commitments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Solid forecasting and planning ability
