Quantitative Risk Analyst
ThinkMarkets is looking for a hardworking and passionate Quantitative Risk Analyst to join our Chicago team. This role will be focused on operational support of trading on proprietary platforms, as well as monitoring of market risk across the entire order book. The ideal candidate will have middle or back-office experience in trading-related roles, and experience building or refining existing operational procedures. Responsibilities:
- Monitor proprietary system of trade-based alerts and escalate as necessary
- Manage onboarding process for large trading counterparties that require bespoke setups
- Develop robust, repeatable, and scalable operational processes, and communicate and manage these daily
- Provide operational support for trade-related inquiries
- Perform real-time management of risk and hedge as appropriate within agreed limits
- Reconcile prime broker and margin liquidity providers' positions versus in-house positions
- Reconcile account cash balances to system P&L
- Provide daily review and explanation of the positions, P&L, and risk profile of the trading book to senior management
- Liaise with colleagues globally to ensure smooth handover and synchronization of teams
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics or other related fields
- At least two years of experience in middle or back-office trading/financial services and trading systems
- Proficiency in Excel and SQL (R and/or Python is a plus)
- Understanding of trading strategies in FX, futures, equities, and cryptocurrencies
- Disciplined self-starter with ability to make well-balanced decisions and solve problems under pressure
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- CFA designation a plus but not required
This role primarily focuses on US market hours; however, the desk operates globally 24/5. As such, flexibility to manage other shifts (primarily APAC) will occasionally be required.
