Senior Accountant, Internal Controls: RXBAR is one of the fastest growing natural brands in the country. This growth requires increased support for our accounting functions at a senior level to oversee the control environment and implement process changes where necessary as we scale and grow while ensuring high integrity in our financials. Dynamic distribution channels, product categories and international initiatives have resulted in increased complexity and volume within our accounting and finance functions.

The Senior Accountant, Internal Controls will act as subject matter expert in our control environment and assist in the ongoing evaluation and maintenance of controls and compliance. This role will report to the Accounting Manager- Reporting and provide needed support on high level projects, ongoing requests and technical accounting research. The Senior will serve as a leader among the accounting team and work closely with our parent company, Kellogg, to ensure proper controls are in place and working effectively.

General Functions + Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for maintaining and ensuring compliance with the company’s key controls and implementing process changes as we scale and grow
• Perform internal audits and reviews of various functions/areas across RXBAR including but not limited to: cash, inventory, A/R, A/P, net sales
• Assist the Accounting Manager – Reporting in accomplishing audit objectives in a team environment by supporting various functions across the business
• Responsible for a handful of weekly inventory duties including by-location inventory reconciliations and follow ups
• Identify and analyze risks, document and analyze procedures and controls, develop audit recommendations and be able to review identified issues with management
• Responsible for creating and maintaining process documentation for the Accounting team and across the organization as it relates to internal controls and processes
• Implement and take initiative on process improvements and working cross-functionally across the organization to optimize speed and accuracy
• Assist with the optimization of accounting procedures (including financial statement audits) and other special projects as needed
• Daily interaction with a variety of internal and external departments including but not limited to FP&A, Supply Chain, Marketing, Sales, Customer Service and Kellogg Company

 Skills & Qualifications:

• Positive attitude, a thirst for knowledge and an excitement for growing our business
• 3 - 4 years’ experience in Internal or External Audit or related experience
• Working knowledge of internal controls and internal auditing standards
• Experience with audit engagement planning, executing and reporting
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• MBA or Master’s preferred
• CPA preferred
• Strong analytical, organizational and technical accounting skills
• Advanced understanding of accounting principles related to GAAP
• Manufacturing and/or consumer goods industry experience a plus
• Strong excel capabilities
• Evidence of ‘customer first’ values and behaviors
