Role:

The Senior Accountant - Purchasing will oversee the accounts payable process and own the purchasing internal controls infrastructure. They will act as key liaison between finance and other departments to maximize operations while protecting the company from risk. The role will operate out of our West Loop, Chicago office.

What you will be responsible for:

• Oversee and provide guidance for the A/P Specialist and Purchasing Coordinator
• Ownership over Purchasing Internal Controls infrastructure including monitoring and resolving Goods Received Not Invoiced
• Ensure employee compliance with Corporate Purchasing and T&E Policies
• Administrate Expensify (expense processing software)
• Create process improvements within the purchase order/requisition and AP processes, and vendor management functions
• Problem-solve directly with key suppliers to streamline reconciliation and payment processes
• Reconcile vendor accounts and investigate differences
• Serve as main point of contact for vendor related inquiries (late payments, expedited payments, PO/invoice mismatches, etc.)
• Assist in cash forecasting by providing insight into disbursement trends and future funding needs

Who you are:

• Bachelors degree in a related field
• 3 + years of previous accounting or accounts payable experience, ideally in a CPG environment
• CPA a plus, but not required
• Strong problem-solving and analytic skills
• Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-moving environment and adhere to shifting priorities
• Self-starter who can identify and diagnose process weak points
• NetSuite experience a plus
