Title:  Senior Accountant
Location:  Chicago

Optiver is looking for a Senior Accountant to own and manage our regulatory and financial reporting processes. As Senior Accountant, you will have the opportunity to oversee our core accounting functions and drive success within our team.

What you’ll do:

• Manage the financial reporting process, including the month-end close process for five entities 
• Manage broker-dealer reporting deliverables including FOCUS filings and net capital reporting
• Analyze and demonstrate understanding of key drivers to changes in net capital and liquidity
• Work closely with Middle Office to facilitate, understand and analyze trading results
• Drive for continuous improvement for finance processes and deliverables
• Collaborate with other departments to develop value-add management reporting and processes
• Review and deliver monthly reporting package to Amsterdam office, communicating key analysis over balance and income statement changes
• Manage the preparations of annual financial statements and audit-related deliverables; coordinate with external auditors
• Assist in the coordination of regulatory audit deliverables
• Support finance team and other departments with ad-hoc projects and requests  
• Manage, develop and mentor junior team members
   

What you’ll need:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or related field
• 5-10 years of experience in the financial services industry
• Must be highly proficient in Excel
• Strong track record of identifying and implementing process improvements
• Public accounting experience a plus
• Series 27 a plus
• CPA certification preferred
• Excellent communication and analytical skills 
• Highly motivated, detail oriented individual able to handle multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
