What you will be doing:

As the Senior Accountant at 10th Magnitude, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations within the Finance department including month-end close process, accounts payable operations, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations. You will work within operations and finance and will report directly to the CFO. You will own the general ledger and be responsible for the accurate and timely recording and reporting recording, analyzing, and reporting on all balance sheet and income statement accounts.  In this role, attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast- paced, high growth company is a must.

Responsibilities include:

  • Analyze financial information and summarizing financial status
  • Help to develop and maintain financial reporting packages for internal and board of director purposes
  • Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results
  • Review bank reconciliations prepared by accounting clerk
  • Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
  • Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures/ provide input into department’s goal setting process
  • Participate in financial standards setting and in forecast process
  • Prepare financial statements and produce budget according to schedule
  • Assist with annual financial statement audits
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP

You’re the right candidate if: 

  • 4+ years of accounting experience
  • 2+ years of professional services experience
  • Process driven and self-starter attitude
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment at a high growth company
  • Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
  • Good aptitude for technology – ability to pick up new technologies quickly.
  • Must have at least intermediate MS Excel expertise – preferably advanced capabilities or aptitude to achieve advanced status
  • Good skills around MS Word and PowerPoint is required
  • Experience with QuickBooks online is preferred but not required
  • Experience with Harvest Project Management system a plus
  • BS degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant
  • CPA preferred
