Who We Are Looking For:

Fooda is adding a Senior Accountant to our growing Finance and Accounting Team. The ideal candidate for this position is a great analytical problem solver, a clear communicator, and has 5+ years of professional experience between public and private firms. The Senior Accountant is super organized, possesses technical accounting and reporting skills, and has experience working in a high growth environment. This person will build upon and improve current processes in order to streamline and implement new systems and controls. Candidates must demonstrate high energy and passion for their work, and want to be challenged every day.

What You Will Be Doing:

The Fooda Finance and Accounting Team members all wear lots of different hats and we'll expect whoever joins our team to do the same. Roles and responsibilities will include, but won't be limited to, the following:

  • Participate in monthly close including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations as well as consolidation and reporting
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, annual and ad hoc reporting
  • Be responsible for audit requests such as balance sheet reconciliations and addressing follow-up questions
  • Provide advice and assistance to Controller in analyzing and interpreting financial data and reports
  • Assist in improving the accounting and financial reporting function by evaluating processes and implementing changes
  • Research, upgrade and document internal controls, procedures and policies
  • Identify and analyze accounting issues by performing technical accounting research to address complex accounting matters and reporting
  • Assist the Controller and Accounting Manager with income taxes and local regulatory filings at the county, city and state level
  • Collaborate with FP&A team on monthly financial variance analysis
  • Complete and support special projects aimed at improving our operational efficiency and reporting

What You Should Already Have:

  • B.S. in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA preferred
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Accounting 
  • Public accounting experience a plus
  • Excellent skills in MS Excel
  • Experience using NetSuite strongly preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Must have a strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Ability to generate new ideas and think independently; strong research and analysis skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly and learn new tasks independently 
  • Must be able to exercise discretion and maintain confidential/sensitive information
