Position Overview: 

 

Echo is looking to immediately fill a role on our accounting team. We are seeking an innovative and collaborative Accounting Senior Manager to lead our transformation initiatives across our shared services and accounting functions. The role will design and implement efficient and automated procedures and lead an ERP implementation to support our growing company. The position will report to the Controller and support all the shared services and accounting functions headquartered in downtown Chicago. Your main priorities will be leading the execution of SOPs, designing and implementing a new accounting system, and managing process transformation projects.  The ideal candidate is self-motivated, proactive, and demonstrates high interpersonal skills to work across various functions to assess and propose solutions to complex accounting and business issues.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and lead the standardization and improvement of accounting and shared service processes

  • Participate in operational projects for the purpose of gaining efficiencies and adding value to other departments across the company 

  • Identify and establish best-practice accounting policies and procedures 

  • Lead the implementation of an ERP accounting system to enhance internal reporting and accounting processes

  • Collaborates across functions including IT to recommend solutions, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement projects to increase productivity and automation 

  • Liaison between accounting, finance, IT, and business partners to ensure all stakeholder are informed of process changes to assess interdependencies and potential business and functional impact before executing transformational projects 

  • Creating a culture of continuous improvement for the accounting and shared services functions 

  • Fulfill documentation requests for audit and other compliance requirements

  • Support accounting and shared service teams with month end and quarter end procedures

 

Requirements: 

  • CPA required 

  • BA/BS in Accounting 

  • 8+ years of experience in public or corporate accounting with a focus on process improvement and accounting / finance transformation projects 

  • ERP implementation and project management expertise  

  • Advanced Excel capabilities 

  • Strong organizational and documentation skills 

  • Team player, recognizes and supports team goals over individual goals

  • Expert problem solving skills, is able to recognize and correct a potential accounting and business issues quickly and effectively

  • Communicate effectively with team and others within the organization

  • Self-managed and motivated with a strong desire to succeed and achieve goals

  • Solid written and oral communication skills

  • Exposure to SOX control environment

 

 

Work environment/physical demands summary:

 

This job operates in an office environment and uses a computer, telephone and other office equipment as needed to perform duties. The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of an office with an open seating floor plan. The employee may encounter frequent interruptions throughout the work day. The employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear.
