What You'll Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance
3 – 5 years of public accounting experience, CPA highly preferred
Excellent analytical skills
Demonstrated ability to understand and apply accounting concepts
Demonstrated ability to apply innovative approaches and problem-solving skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills, organized and detail oriented
Comfortable working in a team environment and autonomously
Effective prioritization skills with ability to manage multiple deliverables simultaneously
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
What We’d Love to See:
An advanced degree in Accounting or Finance
CPA would be beneficial but not required
Advanced knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
Experience with earnings per share, purchase accounting, and/or share-based compensation
Experience with Hyperion, Essbase, Tableau, PeopleSoft, or other Enterprise Resource Planning or Business Intelligence software
Impact You'll Make
The Corporate Accounting group is responsible for maintaining appropriate internal controls across the organization, coordinating the monthly consolidation and close process, SEC and other external financial reporting compliance, technical accounting research, accounting for share-based compensation, and mergers & acquisitions, as well as various other special projects. We routinely work in partnership with segment and executive leadership, investor relations, as well other strategic groups within TransUnion, to accomplish our strategic initiatives while ensuring accurate reporting and effective internal controls.
Assist in preparing quarterly/annual SEC financial statement disclosures, streamlining financial reporting processes, implementing new tools and software, and researching/summarizing GAAP and SEC requirements.
Prepare, analyze, streamline, and maintain detailed financial models, reports, schedules, and documentation for share-based compensation, diluted earnings per share, mergers & acquisitions, goodwill impairment, and other technical accounting topics
Partner with and support other accounting and finance personnel to analyze trends and variances, and ensure timely and accurate month-end closes
Act as a key point of contact to outside auditors for interim reviews and year-end audits, including preparing, collecting and compiling information in support of auditor requests
Assist in the documentation of processes and controls, including narratives and flowcharts, necessary for SOX compliance
Assist in research and implementation of technical accounting issues
Assist with testing and implementation of financial system enhancements
Assist in the preparation and review of external financial reporting obligations, including SEC filings, earnings releases and other investor relations and board of director presentations
Assist with the month end close process by preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis
Other various special projects as assigned
