ThoughtWorks’ Corporate Finance team is seeking an experienced CPA to assist in managing accounting and audit activities for our consolidated entities. This person will report to the Global Controller located in Chicago and will work with both the Corporate and Global Finance Teams. The Senior Corporate Accountant will also oversee and review work performed by the Global Finance Hub Team(s).

Responsibilities Include:

• Maintain global general ledger
• Continued focus on improving system efficiencies and business practices
• Participate in strategic financial projects including upgrades/phase-two implementation of ERP software
• Work closely with the Assistant Controller to prepare and present periodic reporting packages to outside stakeholders
• Assist with compilation of information for preparation of month end reporting
• Consolidation activities (translation, elimination, closing the periods, etc.) at TW, Inc. level and at UK level as needed
• Assist in management and coordination of the consolidated global audit
• Act as a resource to the Global Finance Teams to help develop and maintain accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements and audit(s)
• Develop and apply a structured methodology to balance sheet review and maintenance
• Manage the balance sheet and income statement for the corporate business unit
• Perform various month-end activities, including but not limited to: account reconciliation, account reconciliation review, regional & corporate income statement review, and reasonableness testing
• Assist in educating and communicating transfer pricing calculations to the countries
• Review intercompany reconciliations and transfer pricing calculations
• Daily and frequent use of general ledger accounting system (PeopleSoft) including review and posting of journal entries
• Grow, educate, and manage global Finance Hub(s)

Skills Required:

• Educational
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • Certified Public Accountant
  • 3-4 years of accounting experience
  • Public accounting experience is preferred but not required

  • Proficiency in Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, formulas)
  • Experience using Oracle’s PeopleSoft preferred but not required

•  Accounting
  • Understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Experience necessary to help develop and maintain accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements and audit(s)
  • Ability to prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Experience in general journal entry preparation and entry
  • Support Global Finance Teams for special projects and workflow process improvements
  • General understanding of transfer pricing principles
