The Senior Financial Analyst delivers quality analysis to all levels of management for decision making purposes.  Guides the analysis, investigation and resolution of the monthly results and variances.  Maintains key financial relationships with all levels of management including directly supporting director level requirements.   Leads a variety of ad hoc projects. 

Responsibilities

  • Makes recommendations and analyzes P&L reporting and variance analysis.
  • Identify financial risks and opportunities within the quarter, and contribute to the quarterly forecast process.
  • Confident and established in the fundamentals of technical accounting including balance sheet reconciliation creation/reviews
  • Proactively manage and support business function to help track cost drivers and coordinate reductions while maintaining specifications and operational objectives.
  • Monitor improvement / cost reduction initiatives, internal and external action items.
  • Lead ad-hoc projects and develop financial reporting
  • Liaise with department managers and effectively communicate financial analysis.
  • Design and production of key management reports with appropriate narrative and explanations.
  • Business Partnering advisory support to specific business functions
  • Acts as finance contact for function by providing in depth knowledge of function
  • Coaches less senior analysts; serves as the subject matter expert on updating standards and regulations into ongoing process steps
  • Review and document current business processes and create process improvement recommendations for implementation.
  • Perform other duties as may be reasonably assigned within the jobholder’s capability

Qualifications

  • Preferred Education: 
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.  Appropriate professional qualification / certification to practice finance in country / region preferred.
  • Preferred Work Experience (years):
    • Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in Accounting or Finance
  • Key Skills and Competencies:
    • Broad knowledge of cost accounting practices and principles
    • Strong analytical and financial modelling skills
    • Advanced Excel and database skills
    • Advanced experience with ERP systems, Oracle, OBI, SAP
    • High degree of accuracy
    • Confident at working to deadlines
    • Comfortable with working through ambiguity
    • Prior experience of working within a Finance department is essential
