What We'll Bring:

The Senior Director, Vertical Strategy, Financial Services, will work with the Head of Financial Services to define and execute the strategy for the Financial Services vertical, ensuring alignment with the broader TransUnion and U.S. Markets strategies, as well as specific market strategies and market development efforts for the lines of business within Financial Services.

 

What You'll Bring:

The Senior Director of Vertical Strategy will be responsible for:

  • Preparing the strategy and three-year operating plan for the vertical, and ensuring alignment of strategy and planning with the lines of business
  • Directing go-to-market efforts for the vertical and coordinating those efforts with the lines of business, as well as with sales and other TransUnion matrix partners
  • Overseeing the monthly reporting and forecasting efforts with finance, sales and other TransUnion matrix partners
  • Prioritizing investment in new capabilities, assets and solutions across the vertical;
  • Completing strategic and operational reviews of industries, functions and product categories that affect the Financial Services vertical

 

The Team’s Focus:

Beyond the traditional business of furnishing credit reports for consumer lending, TransUnion provides financial institutions with data and solutions to better manage customer relationships.  We have a large, diverse client base ranging from national banks and credit unions to local banks and small, independent lenders, in both mature and emerging markets.  We offer a broad array of products customized to each aspect of our clients’ business:  credit risk management, digital marketing, fraud and ID management, and collections and recovery.  We pride ourselves on our ability to bring innovative ideas and solutions to market, leveraging our extensive experience in credit data and analytics. Our team has a dynamic blend of experiences in financial services and credit risk management.

 

How You Will Contribute:

  • Strategy
    • Lead efforts across the vertical, lines of business (and with matrix partners) to gather and synthesize market and competitive intelligence to inform the vertical strategy
    • Develop the strategy and three-year operating plan for the Financial Services vertical
    • Lead M&A due diligence on behalf of Financial Services, including financial modeling
  • Planning
    • Coordinate and oversee the development of the strategies and three-year operating plans for the lines of business within Financial Services
    • Prepare the annual financial plan and interim financial forecasts with finance and the lines of business
    • Support the prioritization of investments in new capabilities, assets and solutions across Financial Services
    • Coordinate go-to-market efforts for the vertical and across the lines of business, working with operations, product, sales and vertical market development teams
  • Execution
    • Ensure timely completion of initiatives and milestones in the vertical and lines of business three-year plans and strategic initiatives
    • Gather and report information to support and interpret financial and operational results for the vertical and lines of business
    • Prepare customer presentations and support material for Financial Services vertical customer meetings

 

 

 

Impact You'll Make:

What You Will Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, mathematics, engineering or one of the hard sciences
  • Master’s degree, preferably an M.B.A., from a top-tier university
  • Three or more years of experience in management consulting, strategic planning, or corporate strategy
  • Experience in financial services industry
  • Experience working with and presenting to senior-level managers and executives
  • Ability and willingness to travel 20% of the time for client meetings and industry conferences
  • Strong quantitative and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills and a high degree of comfort managing multiple projects
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Proven track record for completing projects on time and as expected
  • Driven by intellectual curiosity and independent thinking
  • Passion and desire for continuous improvement
  • Ability to lead by doing with a positive “can do” attitude
