At Groupon, you have the chance to learn a business group from the bottom up, so you never have to wonder about whether or not your work matters.The Global Technology Senior Finance Manager will be a key finance partner for the Global Engineering and Product Development team, one of the largest and most dynamic groups within Groupon. This role will be responsible for delivering insightful financial analysis and providing business decision support for the Global Engineering and Product Development team. In addition, this person will be responsible for owning the quarterly forecast process, as well as completing month-end variance analysis. This is a highly visible role that will interact with leaders across the Technology organization, including the Chief Technology Officer, and will be relied upon as a valued member of the team.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Global Technology team to drive the quarterly financial forecast process and ensure the team is managing to its financial targets

  • Lead the annual planning process, and quarterly forecasts. Drive variance analysis, and identify risks and opportunities

  • Develop, own and manage financial models to support key initiatives and business decisions (e.g. evaluating shift to a cloud computing environment)

  • Analyze operating and financial trends and identify opportunities and develop alternatives to improve performance

 

Required Skills/Experience:

  • 7+ years of experience in FP&A, consulting or other analytical field

  • Experience with technology, digital media and/or e-commerce a plus

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics

  • Excellent Excel, PowerPoint and modeling skills are required

  • Collaborative, self-starter that adapts well to change in a fast-paced, unstructured workplace

  • Ability to multi-task and execute projects with a strong attention to detail and under tight timelines

  • A process-oriented person who is organized but can adapt and shift gears when a project timeline is compressed

  • Ability to translate complex data into an easily understandable format

  • Comfortable working with and analyzing Company financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statement) and relevant financial analysis metrics

  • Proactive, fast learner who is able to work independently on projects and has a track record for completing projects quickly, accurately, and with limited information

  • Strong leader with excellent oral and written communication skills as well as proven social skills. Ability to speak up in meetings to inform and persuade team members and company leadership

  • The ideal candidate will be able to travel at least once per quarter to Engineering development centers
