We’re looking for a VP of Finance to join our team. This position will play an important role in building the structure and process to grow our finance organization. You’ll be responsible for a range of finance and accounting activities and will work directly with Cancer IQ’s CFO and senior management team on a daily basis, as well as our outsourced accounting team, investors and key vendors.

In this role you will leverage your previous finance experience to tackle hands-on operational tasks as well as strategic planning and analysis projects to support our ongoing growth. You’ll work frequently with our sales, product, marketing and support teams to evaluate the impact of their departments on our overall financial plans. Ideal candidates have experience with other SaaS companies and are familiar with the financial details of recurring revenue models.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage financial accounting and reporting. Ensure all financial and accounting functions are performed to standard, including financial modeling, multi-year forecasting, project analysis, budgeting, accounting, management of receivables and payables, purchasing process, payroll and expense management, cash management, tax compliance and strategy, and cost allocations.
  • Manage Investor Relations. Work with existing investors and their representatives to ensure timely updates and other requested information is provided. This includes the preparation of Board of Directors Meeting presentations and investor presentations. It also includes responding to various request.
  • Support evaluation of potential strategic alternatives. The company is in continuous discussions as an acquisition candidate and is also considering potentially going public at some point in its future. As such, this role will research and keep leadership current regarding the M&A landscape for SaaS healthcare companies and trends in the capital markets (private and public).
  • Handle ongoing financial projects. Take the lead on working with auditors for our annual audit, preparation of reports for our investors and related parties and overseeing tax planning and other compliance activities with our accounting team.
  • Support potential financings. The Company may pursue a Series C round of financing in the future.
  • Manage AP and AR activities Managing cash-flow is important for a company of our size, which requires careful attention to collections and purchasing activities across the company. You will oversee the automated processes that drive these and, where necessary, step in take actions to manage collections, payment of vendors and management of related financial obligations.
  • Drive modeling throughout the company As a rapidly growing company, there are numerous decisions that require rigorous financial analysis to help make decisions around future funding rounds, operational efficiency and sales activities. You will take the lead on designing models to support these activities, then work with relevant groups within the company to gather the necessary data to support the model and reach decisions with the management team.
  • Run with special projects We leverage our size to nimbly pursue new opportunities, which often require ad hoc investigations and quick decision making and execution. You will be involved in these whenever they arise, and will have an opportunity to learn from and influence departments across the company in the process.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in accounting, financial planning and analysis and/or treasury management in rapidly growing companies
  • Understanding of key SaaS metrics and software revenue recognition rules and regulations, including those related to recurring revenue streams
  • Strong financial modeling experience
  • Ability to work independently with a cross-functional team environment
  • Articulate with strong business acumen
  • Desire to handle operational-related tasks that drive the financial operations of the company while also helping drive the long-term financial strategy of the company
  • Able to anticipate future business scenarios, enabling the company to plan for and invest in growth wisely
  • Exceptional judgment, including an ability to execute independently and cross-team collaboration with members of all levels and functions
  • Excellent proficiency in accounting and corporate finance
