Senior Financial Analyst
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop financial models through benchmarking and process analysis.
- Forecast monthly, quarterly and annual profits and Savings.
- Prepare cost projections.
- Analyze and report on current financial status.
- Conduct thorough research of historical financial data.
- Modeling complex financial concepts that lead analyses to turn data into meaningful insights.
- Explore investment options and present risk and opportunities.
- Coordinate with the CFO/COO and the executive team on long-term financial planning.
- Compare anticipated and actual results and identify areas of improvement.
- Participate in budgeting (for departments and projects).
- Review accounting transactions for data accuracy.
- Establish financial policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial information and investment decisions
- Determines cost of operations by establishing standard costs; collecting operational data.
- Identifies financial status by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts.
- Guides cost analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures; providing trends and forecasts; explaining processes and techniques; recommending actions.
- Improves financial status by analyzing results; monitoring variances; identifying trends; recommending actions to management.
- Reconciles transactions by comparing and correcting data.
- Maintains database by entering, verifying, and backing up data.
- Recommends actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses; studying proposed changes in methods and materials.
- Increases productivity by developing automated accounting applications; coordinating information requirements.
- Protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
- Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing publications.
Job Qualifications:
· Proven work experience as a Senior Financial Analyst, Financial Analyst or similar role
· Understands P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and the impact of the business drivers on financials
· Proven track record of Experience with strategic, operational, and financial competencies within the IT industry
· Should have high standards on integrity and work ethic
· Hands-on experience with financial and statistical software
· Expertise in MS Excel (creating spreadsheets and using advanced formulas)
· Familiarity with finance databases
· Understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning systems (ERP)
· Up to date with accounting laws and regulations
· Excellent analytical skills
· Ability to present financial data using detailed reports and charts
· Demonstrable strategic thinking skills
· Confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information
· BS degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics, MBA preferred.
· Relevant certification (e.g. CFA/CPA) is a plus
