GoHealth’s Accounting team is actively seeking a bright and detail oriented payroll professional to join our department as a Senior Payroll Accountant. This is an exciting new role that will report to our Senior Accounting & Payroll Manager and will assist our team with payroll activities for our rapidly growing population with over 1500 US based employees. In this role, you will be responsible for running bi-weekly payroll for exempt and non-exempt staff and will also assist in bonus calculations and payouts for all team members. Responsibilities

• Multi-State payroll processing with emphasis on payroll tax knowledge to ensure efficient processing and delivery of accurate financial data
• Provide oversight of garnishment processing in multiple states
• Monitor Payroll processing in compliance with applicable rules and regulations
• Develop a strong collaboration with the HR department to ensure seamless communication between the two teams
• Manage the audit and reconciliation process of personnel and payroll documents, as well as state and local tax requirements
• Assist with payroll reports as needed (e.g. Worker’s Comp, benefit plan, and 401(k))
• Supervise the Time & Attendance process and communications as appropriate
• Support month end close activities and assist in preparations of payroll/bonus accruals

Skills and Experience

• BA in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred. CPP Designation a strong plus. 
• 5+ years of Payroll accounting 
• Strong understanding of Payroll Tax Laws and Regulations
• Working understanding of key financial reports, including income statements, cash flow statements and balance sheets
• Support month end close activities and assist in preparations of payroll/bonus accruals
• Advance knowledge of MS Excel
• Experience in taking initiative and identifying new ways to approach existing processes
• Experience with UltiPro or other applicable HRIS system preferred
