Senior Revenue Accountant
As a Senior Revenue Accountant, you are responsible for managing the daily and monthly operations of revenue accounting and reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP and corporate policies. In this role you will also have the opportunity to assist with understanding and interpreting technical accounting, implementing revenue process improvements, and assisting with various aspects of the billing/revenue systems. As a Senior Accountant you would also assists with month-end reporting and the year-end audit.

Responsibilities
- Complete month-end close activities including revenue analysis, deferred revenue and unbilled revenue reconciliations, commission and sales bonus calculations (costs of revenue), and management reporting, etc.
- Assist with determining monthly revenue forecasts.
- Manage the review of significant and/or non-standard deals, sales contract review and approval to ensure revenue recognition aligns with ASC 606 Revenue from Contracts with Customers guidance and Company policies.
- Research and prepare technical memos to summarize revenue issues relevant to major contracts, and provide appropriate conclusions and recommendations
- Ensure that revenue recognition is communicated, implemented, and applied consistently within other members of the accounting and finance organization.
- Perform and/or update our Standalone Selling Price study and appropriate revenue allocation in accordance with ASC 606.
- Assist in external financial audits including preparation of Prepared By Client (PBC) requests/supporting schedules and providing timely response to audit questions.
- Assist with requests from Sales and Sales Operations Teams related to revenue recognition and other related matters
- Participate in process improvement initiatives for Order to Cash and Commissions processes
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of authoritative accounting guidance on ASC 606 revenue recognition
- Additional accounting and finance projects as they become available.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- 4+ years experience
- Hands-on revenue experience (preferably in a software organization)
- Familiarity with complex revenue recognition transactions (ASC 606 knowledge required)
- Ability to be a business partner to a cross functional team and ownership of your area.
Preferred:
- Experience in a Big 4 public accounting firm
- Experience with ASC 340-40 (Costs to fulfill a contract)
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP; experience handling complex accounting matters and demonstrating competency in US GAAP, current accounting regulations and internal controls
- Experience with Salesforce CPQ, Intacct (ERP), and Vena (FP&A) is a plus
