Senior Staff Accountant - Revenue
Description
The Senior Accountant will assist with Syndigo’s accounting, control, financial reporting and financial planning. This position will maintain the general ledger around revenue, deferred revenue and receivables and ensure data integrity, monitor accounting policies and help implement key financial processes.
This role will report to the controller and be based in Syndigo’s Lisle, IL or Nashville, TN office.
Key responsibilities
- Analyze financial information surrounding deferred revenue waterfalls and revenue trends by customer
- Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency
- Ensure compliance with ASC 606
- Prepare general journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations, ensure reconciliations are prepared and reconciling items are resolved timely
- Manage compliance and integrity of data from international operations in tandem with the controller
- Assist in external audits
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Support month-end and year-end close process
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Requirements
- Driven, high energy individual with the ability and desire to work under pressure and deliver timely and accurate results
- Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures and principles
- Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
- Ability to meet communicated schedules and deadlines
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
- BS degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant
- Must have at least 4 years’ experience, with a minimum of 2 years in public accounting
- Exposure to rules and regulations pertaining to foreign operations is a plus
- SaaS experience is preferred
