Primary Responsibilities

The Senior Staff Accountant is an integral part of the General Accounting team. The Senior Staff Accountant will record month-end close entries, balance sheet reconciliations, analysis and special projects as assigned. Additionally, The Senior Staff Accountant will work with the warehouse and transportation management teams to build financial acumen in those areas. Essential Functions

• Month end close entries
• Balance sheet account reconciliations as assigned
• Labor productivity analysis and reporting
• Freight cost analysis and benchmarking
• Contact for warehouse & transportation financial questions and issues
• Assist General Accounting Manager and Controller with special projects

Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude

• Bachelor Degree in Accounting
• 2-5 years General Accounting experience (distribution experience a plus)
• Must have strong Excel skills and be proficient in Word and Outlook
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and report complex accounting functions
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to work with others in a spirit of teamwork and cooperation, proactively addressing problems

Qualifications / Additional Skills / Aptitude:

• Ability and willingness to work flexible and extended hours as needed
• Ability and willingness to effectively prioritize activities with minimal supervision, focusing on those with the highest business impact
• Ability to maintain high standards of accuracy and assure compliance with company and other applicable policies and procedures
• CPA and JDE experience a plus
