Purpose of the Role:

  • We are searching for an organized, motivated Senior Tax Accountant to own the corporate tax engagements across all areas of corporate taxation. The Senior Tax Accountant will ensure that all tax compliance filing obligation deadlines are met with accurate results, be main point of contact with our external tax partners on all global income tax matters, and maintain accurate and complete records. You will also serve as a liaison between the Accounting department and external parties, including our parent company, auditing authorities, tax authorities, and our third-party tax partners. Additionally, the Senior Tax Accountant will ensure standardization across our ever expanding global footprint.
  • A key strategic focus of the Senior Tax Accountant will be to work closely with our key business partners ensuring there is consistent knowledge in changes within the business, drive efficiencies, continuously improve the department and enable the ability to scale with the growing Pampered Chef business.
  • To succeed as a Senior Tax Accountant, you should be focused on optimizing department processes and building lasting relationship with others within and outside of the business. You should be knowledgeable, analytical, and decisive with excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for accounting for taxes, performing tax research and assisting with the preparation of a variety of tax compliance aspects
  • File monthly sales & use tax returns for all jurisdictions in which Pampered Chef has a reporting obligation and serve as key resource for all sales & use tax inquiries.
  • File annual business license renewals for all jurisdictions in which Pampered Chef has a licensing obligation.
  • Partner with our external tax partners regarding preparation of required support and responses to inquiries related to various reporting obligations, including but not limited, to R&D credits, UNICAP, Franchise Tax, State and Federal Income Tax, and Global Tax and Compliance.
  • This position will also be responsible for assisting in gathering information for audits in these respective areas.
  • Preparation of quarterly tax support and footnotes for the Berkshire financial reporting package with support from our external tax partner.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of process flows, risks and key controls for each significant business process within areas of responsibility.
  • Manage special projects as assigned, including providing input and advice on day-to-day tax matters such as sales & use taxes, VAT taxes, income, property, and other related taxes.
  • Assist with international aspects of federal, state, and foreign income tax audits and related compliance matters.
  • Research, resolve and respond to state and federal regulatory agencies’ notices.
  • Be a strategic business partner, advising and supporting domestic and international business teams in tax related issues, policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and respond to inquiries that come into the tax email inbox.
  • Reconcile GL tax accounts.
  • Assist Accounts Payable with preparation and distribution of 1099s to vendors and consultants.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field
  • 5+ years of corporate tax or public accounting/tax experience
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel Skills
  • CPA, or currently sitting for CPA a plus
  • Technical knowledge of accounting and tax concepts
  • Self-motivated and able to produce results with little direction.
  • Critical thinker with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
  • Superior analytical and research skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in complex situations with tight deadlines
  • Willingness to adapt to changing priorities
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel Skills
  • Vertex Sales Tax software a plus
