Sr. Accountant, M&A Integration
The Role
As the Sr. Accountant, M&A Integrations, you will be responsible for supporting GTI’s integration efforts, which include change management and process implementation for our acquisitions and internal accounting department. GTI is a swiftly growing presence in the cannabis industry, with a constantly expanding portfolio of brands, products, and locations. You will help smooth the way for newly acquired locations as they roll their accounting practices and data into GTI’s procedures and systems along with supporting GTI’s accounting department on ongoing process improvement efforts. This is a new role on a quickly growing team, and no two days will be the same. You should be comfortable with ambiguity, be able to make decisions quickly and autonomously, have a love for systems and process and possess a balanced skillset, combining accounting, analytical/problem solving and relationship management.
Responsibilities
- Partner with target companies to integrate processes, policies and procedures into GTI
- Map and convert target company’s trial balance to GTI’s trial balance structure
- Project leader in integrating GTI’s policies, procedures and reporting to ensure compliance with all policies and internal controls
- Anticipate project risks by addressing challenges, mitigating those risks and escalating when appropriate
- Assist target companies to adopt policies and procedures
- Build and maintain relationships with team members across multiple functions and locations
- Coordinate and partner with senior Accounting and Finance team members with special projects and process improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA preferred
- 4+ years progressive accounting experience. A combination of public, in-house and client services experience is preferred.
- Understanding of various operations and activities within the accounting function (ex: AR, AP, Payroll, Month End Close, Reporting)
- Accounting system user experience ideal (ex: QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, Intacct, Dynamics)
- A strong interest and understanding of excel, databases, spreadsheets and other data sources
- Previous experience with change management, project management, and process implementation
- Comfortable with ambiguity, and energized by working without a playbook
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, non-verbal, written), with the ability to build relationships at all levels, both internally and externally
- Highly motivated, self-directed, innovative and able to work independently or among teams with keen judgement, common sense and resourcefulness
- Adapts and thrives in a demanding, start-up, fast-paced environment
- Possesses a high level of critical thinking
- Operate with a high level of professionalism and integrity, including dealing with confidential information
- Must understand and comply with the rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of GTI
