About the job.

We’re looking for a Sr. Accountant to join our Finance team on a full-time basis.  In this role you will perform accounting functions necessary to ensure an accurate and timely month-end close. This candidate will be detail oriented, able to work autonomously and collaborative. This role is perfect for you if you thrive in a fast-paced environment and are interested in helping develop more efficient accounting processes for a growing tech company. 

Here is how you will spend your time at Tovala.

• Prepare and review the monthly financial statements.
• Oversee accounting functions such as recording, reconciling and analyzing G/L account transactions.
• Manage the relationships with external auditors and tax consultants and owning the preparation of support schedules. 
• Partner with our Food Production and Hardware teams on reconciliations regarding inventory and spend. 
• Oversee processing of invoices for payment as well as setting up new vendors.
• Drive the monthly review of financial statements and provide support for key metrics.
• Collaborate with the Accounting Lead to develop process improvements across the company.
• Lead in developing company accounting policies and procedures specifically focusing on scalability.
• Evaluate internal controls to find deficiencies and create corrective plans

About you.

• You have a Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Accounting/Finance or related field.
• You have 3+ years of relevant experience.
• You have a CPA and public accounting experience in tax/audit is preferred, but not required.
• You have In-depth knowledge of US GAAP and ASC 606.
• You have excellent communication skills and have high sense of responsibility to get things across the finish line.
• You have experience in a high growth, fast-paced startup environment is preferred. 
• You are driven to undertake new tasks and projects to drive efficiencies.
• You are able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously as well as take ownership of your work.
• You are a very organized person who pays attention to details.
• You love food, whether that means cooking it, eating it, frequently pressing your nose against deli windows, or lusting after soft-serve on Instagram. All fair game.
