Position Overview:
Part of the Accounts Payable Department, the Sr. A/P LTL Representative is responsible for managing an account portfolio of 15-20 carriers and/or +$4MM in monthly payments. Major responsibilities of this position include, but are not limitedto:managing carrier payments and expectations, trending data and payment behavior, resolving rating disputes and billing errors, reporting payables metrics to the accounting department and reducing outstanding carrier payment obligations.
Responsibilities:
- All Job Functions of an AP LTL Representative
- Manage Carrier Aging Report
- Manage Carrier Payments
- Serve as Liaison Between Carriers and Internal Business Units
- Oversee a Collection of Carriers (which are managed by multiple AP LTL Reps)
- Assist in distributing workload among AP LTL Reps
- Ensure carrier aging's are in good standing and being reviewed per SOPs
- Lead partnership communication with carriers
- First point of escalation contact for carriers
- Partner with business units to ensure carrier invoice resolution
- Oversee Day-to-Day Operations
- Ensure that workload metrics align with department expectations
- Ensure all communication being addressed in a timely manner, per AP Partnership Standards
- Provide AP phone line support
- Responsible for Reporting
- Run weekly reconciliation reporting
- Monitor open payables reporting as submitted by AP LTL Reps
- Develop AP LTL Reps
- Support new hire training
- Actively coach AP LTL Reps to achieve AP Partnership Standards
Qualifications:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Exudes a positive attitude and evangelizes department initiatives
- Flexible to evolve as department and company initiatives change
- Dependable, accountable and detail oriented
- Works well in collaborative environment
- Demonstrates decision making ability
- General accounting knowledge and/or experience
- Experience using Great Plains accounting software is a plus
- Exhibits natural leadership, coaching and training skills
