West Monroe is looking for a Sr. Business Analyst to join our Corporate IT Team and support the continuous development and improvement of our financial software products. As an analyst, you would be responsible for providing tier 3 systems support for end users for our financial systems, and additionally would work on requirements gathering, testing, documentation, training, and post deployment support.
Working alongside an Agile/Scrum team you would design, develop, and deploy large-scale enterprise solutions, all while learning and growing your skill set. This role involves collaborating with key stakeholders across the business to write user stories, participate in backlog grooming, plan sprints and releases, and validate whether developed features and capabilities satisfy acceptance criteria and metric goals. This is an exciting role that will present the challenge of helping the business define financial technologies and processes that will deliver greatest value to our employee-owned firm.
Responsibilities:
• Develop user stories and process flows to support the design and development of financial software solutions for our internal partners
• Collaborate with other departments and Corporate IT groups to ensure solutions meet business requirements and fulfill user stories
• Demonstrate strong understanding of our financial software vendor’s capabilities and limitations; effectively communicate that functionality internally
• Identify and create inventory of process pain points and gaps in best practices to address end user issues
• Ticket reporting including stats and common themes
• Liaison between vendor support and our internal end users for escalated support
• Identify gaps and training areas to increase ticket resolution by tier 1 or 2 service desk agents
• Create business process and user experience models
• Add to, groom, and assist in continuously refining product(s) backlog within an Agile/Scrum team, tracking milestones using project management lifecycle software
• Work with key stakeholders and end users to gather, understand, and define business requirements
• Work proactively to remove and identify technical debt and security vulnerabilities, and strive to stay “out of the box” with core financial software products when possible
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business Administration, or similar preferred
• ~2-5+ years of experience working in a BA capacity; preference for analyst experience supporting financial software
• Experience working with financial software products and suites, I.e. Concur, FP&A Tools, Accounts Payable Systems, FinancialForce, Kimble, etc.
• Comfortable collaborating cross-functionally with both non-technical business and IT resources
• Experience authoring high quality user stories and business/technical requirements
• Experience authoring high quality training materials and end user guides
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum sprint-based environment; understanding of Agile/Scrum methodology concepts, techniques, and ceremonies strongly preferred
• Preference for experience using tools like Jira for managing and tracking Scrum projects
• Confident in influencing, negotiating, and building consensus
• Ability to multi-task and demonstrate a strong desire to take on new tasks and learn new things
• Ability to analyze, understand, and prioritize business problems
• Strong written and oral communication, analytical skills, and problem-solving ability
• Work experience in management/technology consulting or professional services industries preferred
